In the beginning of December 2022, two researchers of Fraunhofer IEE in Kassel visited Chiang Mai. One objective of their stay was to meet and talk to the residents of the pilot buildings to obtain first hand an impression of their perception and user habits. Additional sensors were installed in vernacular buildings that will be investigated in more detail. The other objective was to meet and discuss with local academics and practitioners with competence in vernacular building technology about the challenges of refurbishment and passive and active cooling methods of such buildings. The meetings were very fruitful and inspiring. Special thanks to everybody who devoted their time and attention to the team.
